What this website collects, who gets to see it, and what you can ask us to do about it. In plain language.
This page explains what happens to the information you send through this website, and what the site records while you read it. It is written in plain language on purpose. Intact is a one-woman show, not a marketing operation, and the amount of data involved is small. World Changing Books, Robin’s company, is responsible for the information collected here. Dragos Design Creative built this website and looks after it on the company’s behalf.
Only what you type into one of the two forms on this site. The list form asks for your first name, email address, and the city you are in. The booking form asks for your name, email, and details about the venue or event you have in mind, plus anything you choose to add in the message field. There is no account to create and nothing else is asked of you.
Like most websites, this one keeps a simple record of pages being read. That record includes the page you opened, the site or link that sent you here, your browser and device type, and the network address your visit came from. It is kept by analytics software running on this website’s own server, so the record stays with us. Nothing is handed to an advertising network, and you are not followed onto other websites.
The list form exists so Robin can tell you when the show is playing near you. The booking form exists so presenters, venues, and festivals can start a conversation about bringing Intact to their room. The page records exist so we can see which parts of the site are actually useful. Your information is used for those purposes and nothing else.
Robin, the small team helping her run the show, and Dragos Design Creative, who built this website and look after it. Your details are not sold, rented, traded, or shared with anyone else for their own use. A few ordinary services do the practical work. The site is hosted by Dragos Design Creative on WP Engine servers. Notifications from the forms are delivered by email through Dragos Design Creative. Both forms also add your details to ActiveCampaign, the mailing list system run by World Changing Books: joining the list means you hear when the show is playing near you, while booking inquiries are tagged separately so Robin can follow up with presenters about shows. Each of those services handles your information only in order to provide its part of the service, and each is a United States company, so that is where your information is processed.
Mailing list sign-ups are kept until you unsubscribe. Booking inquiries are kept for as long as the conversation is useful and archived after that. A copy of every form submission is also saved in this website’s own database, so nothing is lost if an email fails to arrive. You can ask for your details to be removed at any time, and they are removed everywhere, including the mailing list system.
This site sets one cookie of its own. It holds a random identifier so the page records can tell a returning visit from a new one, and it carries nothing that names you. There are no advertising cookies and no third-party trackers. One video on the Press and Media page plays from YouTube, and YouTube may set its own cookies once you press play. Everything else on the site plays from our own server.
Every email from the mailing list includes an unsubscribe link, and one click is enough. You can also ask to see what information is held about you, to have it corrected, or to have it deleted. Write to support@worldchangingbooks.com and say what you would like done.
If the way information is handled changes, this page is updated and the date below changes with it.
